Why Londoners Get in Touch
London is not short of therapists. People come here for reasons other than availability.
Cost is one. Private therapy in central London is expensive, and the alternative — NHS Talking Therapies, which you can self-refer to in England without a GP — can involve a long wait depending on the borough.
Cultural fluency is a bigger one. A substantial share of London clients are British Indian, from Harrow, Wembley, Southall, Hounslow, Ilford and East Ham, and the appeal is not having to explain family from first principles.
Flexibility is a third. Daytime and weekend slots, no commute across the city, and continuity if you move — which in London, people do constantly.

What Is Offered
- «Counselling for anxiety, depression, stress, grief and trauma
- «Relationship and marriage counselling, jointly or individually
- «Clinical hypnotherapy for phobias, smoking, weight, sleep and confidence
- «Life coaching and confidence work
- «Reiki, chakra healing and distance energy work
- «Reiki classes and attunement to Master level

What This Is Not
It is not an NHS service and cannot refer you into one. It cannot provide a diagnosis that a UK institution will recognise, cannot prescribe, and is not part of any local crisis pathway.
If you need medication, a formal diagnosis, or coordinated care, you need a UK practitioner and your GP. Where you are in England with anxiety or depression, NHS Talking Therapies is free and self-referable, and it is worth checking before paying privately.
Many clients do both, and there is no conflict in that.

The Time Difference
India runs four and a half hours ahead of London in British Summer Time and five and a half in winter.
In practice: a London late-morning or early-afternoon session lands in the Delhi evening and is easiest to arrange. A 5pm London session is around 10.30pm in Delhi and is available but limited. Weekend mornings and early afternoons work well.
Sessions after 7pm London time are difficult, and that is worth saying now rather than after you have arranged your week around one. The clocks change on different dates in the UK and India, so times are confirmed against your local clock rather than a fixed offset.

Questions & Answers
Everything you need to know before booking your first session.
Are you BACP-registered?+
No. Taanya practises in New Delhi and is not on any UK voluntary register. Counselling is not statutorily regulated in the UK, so nothing is being circumvented — but if a PSA-accredited register and its complaints route matter to you, choose a UK-registered practitioner.
Can I get this on the NHS or claim it on insurance?+
No to both. These sessions are paid privately. If you are in England, NHS Talking Therapies is free and you can self-refer without going through a GP.
What times are available?+
London daytime through early afternoon is easiest, and weekend mornings work well. Evenings after 7pm are limited because of the time difference.
Can sessions be in Hindi?+
Yes. English or Hindi, or moving between them, which most bilingual clients do without thinking about it.
Do you ever see clients in person in London?+
No. London clients are seen online only. There is no UK consulting room and none is implied.
What if I need urgent help?+
This is not a crisis service and the time difference makes it unsuitable as one. Call 999 in an emergency, NHS 111 and select the mental health option, or Samaritans free on 116 123 at any hour. You can also text SHOUT to 85258.
