Treatment & Support

What Is Claimed, and What Is Not
Reiki is a relaxation and energy practice. People consistently report deep rest, a settling of anxiety, better sleep, and relief from the sense of being wound tight. Those effects are real and reported often enough to be worth taking seriously.
What is not claimed: Reiki does not cure disease. It does not replace medical treatment, and no one here will suggest you delay or decline treatment prescribed by a doctor. Anyone who tells you otherwise is someone to walk away from.
Where Reiki sits well is alongside medical care — during treatment, during recovery, during grief, or through a period of sustained stress. It is a support, not a substitute.

How a Distance Session Works
You are somewhere quiet where you will not be disturbed for the agreed period — most people lie down, some sit. You do not need to do anything, hold anything, or maintain any particular state of mind. Falling asleep is common and not a failure.
The session is held at an agreed time so you are settled while the work is being done. Afterwards you receive a note on what was noticed and anything worth attending to.
Some clients prefer to be on a video call throughout; others prefer the session held silently while they rest without a screen. Both are available and neither is more effective.

What People Come For
- «Sleep that has not been right for months
- «Anxiety that sits in the body rather than in specific worries
- «Grief, particularly where distance made the loss harder — not being there, or arriving too late
- «Fatigue and burnout after a long stretch of running on empty
- «Support during medical treatment, alongside and never instead of it
- «A sense of being stuck or disconnected that is hard to attach to any single cause

Reiki Training and Attunement
Reiki classes and attunements up to Master level are taught, including for students in Australia. Distance attunement is an accepted practice in the Usui lineage and is how much international teaching now happens.
Levels one and two are usually taken a few weeks apart, with practice between them. Master level is a considerably larger commitment and is not something to take immediately after level two just because it is available.
Australian students are frequently already AHHA-aware, which makes the conversation about scope of practice simpler — what you may and may not say about what Reiki does matters, particularly under Australian consumer law.

About Time Zones
Distance Reiki is the one part of this practice where the time difference barely matters. Where you would rather be asleep during the session, it can be held at a time that suits you and is comfortably within Indian working hours.
For an eastern-states client, a mid-evening Australian session is early evening in Delhi. If you would rather receive it as you fall asleep, that is a very ordinary arrangement.

Questions & Answers
Everything you need to know before booking your first session.
Does distance Reiki work as well as hands-on?+
Practitioners in the Usui lineage hold that it does, and clients report similar effects. If you want a straightforward answer: the reported experiences are comparable, and the evidence for both rests on reported experience rather than clinical trial data. That is stated honestly rather than dressed up.
Do I have to believe in it?+
No, and belief is not a requirement. Scepticism is fine. What is asked is that you actually rest for the agreed period rather than carry on with your day.
Can Reiki replace medical treatment?+
No. It is not a treatment for disease and should never be used instead of medical care. Continue with your doctor, your medication and your treatment plan.
Is Reiki regulated in Australia?+
No. Reiki is not a registered health profession under AHPRA. AHHA membership is a professional-association standard, not a government registration, and it is worth being clear about the difference.
How will I know anything happened?+
Most people notice warmth, heaviness, or a distinct drop in tension, and many fall asleep. Some feel nothing during the session and notice they slept unusually well that night. Some notice nothing at all, and that is reported back honestly rather than talked up.
What if I am struggling and need more than this?+
Reiki is a relaxation practice. It is not a mental health service and it is not a crisis service. If you are genuinely struggling, that deserves proper attention — counselling and clinical hypnotherapy are available here alongside the energy work, and a GP in Australia can arrange a Mental Health Treatment Plan. If you are in immediate distress or at risk, call 000, or Lifeline on 13 11 14, which operates twenty-four hours a day.
